In Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 1), MP Patrick Tay brought up concerns among mature workers about their employment and employability prospects. He made three suggestions to the Ministry of Manpower - extend the Jobs Growth Incentive and restore the Career Support Programme to incentivise employers to hire mature workers, especially PMEs; introduce a mid-life career transition programme involving individualised career coaching and counselling for every mature worker; and consider raising the S$4,000 salary cap for the Special Employment Credit to benefit more mature PMEs.
