Committee of Supply 2024 debate, Day 5: Cheryl Chan on Municipal Services Office

02:07 Min

The Municipal Services Office (MSO) could help look into several “perennial topics” that have been of consistent concern, such as noisy neighbours, second-hand smoke and pigeon feeding. MP Cheryl Chan made this suggestion in Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 5). She noted that the authorities have said regulation alone has its limitations in tackling these issues, so it might be worth getting residents to co-create community solutions instead. Ms Chan also asked what has been learned from MSO’s Love Our ‘Hood initiative and whether it might be scaled up.
