03:42 Min

A strong educational foundation remains a key pillar in helping individuals and families achieve social mobility, said MP Sharael Taha. In Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 6), he asked how programmes run by MENDAKI have helped students at different stages of their educational journey, and provided opportunities for youths to explore jobs in growth industries. He also wanted to know if there are plans to better support Malay-Muslim workers to ensure they can thrive in the future economy. How can professional networks within the community come together to share insights with students and those looking to make a mid-career switch, he asked. Mr Sharael noted that mentoring also plays an important role in equipping youths with emotional support and career guidance. He asked how existing programmes can continue to be relevant and effective.
