Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 3: Ang Wei Neng on segmented HDB units
In parliament on Tuesday (Mar 4), MP Ang Wei Neng highlighted the challenges faced by seniors living in HDB segmented units without direct lift access, sharing how “what was once a desirable feature has become a source of hardship”. He urged the National Development Minister to review the policy on segmented units and proposed several measures to address this issue, such as installing additional lifts in segmented blocks where possible, or allowing owners to sell their segmented flats back to HDB at market price.
