Singapore needs to strengthen its heat resilience in view of global warming and the urban heat island effect, said MP Poh Li San in parliament on Tuesday (Mar 4). She asked about measures to improve the thermal comfort of public spaces and better protect outdoor workers and vulnerable residents. She also wanted updates on the goal to plant one million more trees by 2030 and the progress of environmental modelling for new towns to optimise wind and air flow.
