The world has entered a new era of conflict - one that is more complex, more contested and more technologically driven than anything seen in generations, said MP Joan Pereira. In parliament on Friday (Feb 27), she asked if the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) would consider providing greater support for research into technologies in frontier capabilities that can be developed for defence purposes, even if these solutions come from the private sector, or deepen collaboration with Singapore’s universities. She also asked for an update on MINDEF’s strategies to guard against emerging and disruptive technologies that could be used on the battlefield.
