Consumers can get 10 cents refund for returning drink containers from 1 April
Beverage firms will have up till end September to prepare for a scheme that will see consumers paying a refundable 10 cent deposit for canned and bottled drinks. This means that although the scheme kicks off on 1 Apr, consumers are likely to see a mix of refundable and non-refundable containers during the transition period. Consumers will get the money back when they return the empty containers at vending machines across Singapore.
