Consumers using up to 80% fewer plastic bags at supermarkets

Supermarkets are using up to 80 per cent fewer plastic bags after mandatory charges started last July. These include big chains like FairPrice, Cold Storage and Sheng Siong. Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment Amy Khor says supermarkets played a big role in changing consumer behaviour. She made the observation at the opening of FairPrice Group's green outlet at Farrer Park.
