Crowds flock to Singapore Airshow as it opens to public
Thousands turned up at the Singapore Airshow on the first day that it opened to the public, with some visitors flying in specially for the event. Despite the heat, families packed the grounds to watch aerial displays and view nearly 40 aircraft on static display, spanning defence and commercial aviation. Tickets for Feb 7 were sold out, with limited numbers left for Feb 8. Prime Minister Lawrence Wong was also at the airshow, meeting display teams and air force crews, as visitors caught a glimpse of aviation’s future. Claudia Lim reports.
