Darryl David on Environmental Public Health (Amendment) Bill
Is there a convenient platform where the public can submit evidence of high-rise littering and if a case goes to court, will such evidence be sufficient or would the member of the public have to testify? If so, this might deter some people from reporting cases, said MP Darryl David. Speaking in Parliament on Monday (Feb 6), he said high-rise littering and even killer litter can be a problem in private properties too. He asked if the Government could consider giving condominium residents and management committees “a more direct route” to resolving such cases instead of having to rely on by-laws or court orders. Mr David also sought clarity on when corrective work orders are issued and suggested that they be used more often as a form of deterrence against littering.
