Debate on President’s speech: Gabriel Lam on second chances to correct, support and uplift

Second chances for any Singaporean who has made a wrong turn, whether over bad financial decisions, toxic relationships, addictions, or even just giving up on themselves too early. MP Gabriel Lam highlighted the need for second chances and called for a relook at areas such as hiring culture, housing rules and public communications. Speaking in parliament on Wednesday (Sep 24), he stressed the need to move away from a society that “punishes mistakes endlessly” to one that “corrects, supports and uplifts".
