Dennis Tan on Constitution and Penal Code Amendment Bills relating to Section 377A
In Parliament on Monday (Nov 28), MP Dennis Tan said he found it difficult to support the repeal of Section 377A as he was troubled by the removal of the symbolic social marker it represents. On proposed constitutional amendments to protect the institution of marriage, he said there were some merits to concerns raised earlier by his Workers’ Party colleague Sylvia Lim; however, he still supported the amendments as without them, those with reservations about the repeal of 377A might be even more concerned.
