Desmond Tan on safeguarding national security
Government agencies charged with the mission of safeguarding national security have to rely on a range of intelligence capabilities, including harnessing technology. For obvious reasons, the Government cannot and should not discuss specifics regarding the country's national security. Minister of State for Home Affairs Desmond Tan said this in reply to a Parliamentary question on Friday (Feb 18). Following his reply, MP Sylvia Lim sounded the alarm that her iPhone could have been hacked by state-sponsored attackers.
