Dinesh Vasu Dash on safety timeout to improve vehicular safety

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) called for a voluntary safety timeout from Jan 13 to 27, focusing on vehicular safety following four vehicle-related workplace fatalities in December. MOM also conducted regular inspections in the high-risk sectors. Around 500 inspections were conducted in January - three stop-work orders and five fines were issued to companies and individuals for work-related breaches. Minister of State for Manpower Dinesh Vasu Dash gave this update in reply to an MP’s question in parliament on Thursday (Feb 12).
