Don Wee on Enlistment and Other Matters (Amendment) Bill
National Service plays a critical role in reinforcing Total Defence for all citizens to actively safeguard the security and well-being of Singapore, said MP Don Wee. Voicing support for the Enlistment and Other Matters (Amendment) Bill in Parliament on Friday (Feb 16), he said conscription is an essential component of national security, providing rapid and robust responses to external and internal threats. He wanted to know how the Ministry of Defence will address the concerns related to the acknowledgement consent requirement for electronic services, as well as the impact of potential digital attacks and fraudulent communications by criminals and hostile agents.
