Edward Chia on Digital Infrastructure Bill
The Digital Infrastructure Bill addresses two important objectives - strengthening the security and resilience of Singapore’s national digital infrastructure and progressively raising the energy and water efficiency of its data centres, said MP Edward Chia. Speaking in parliament on Wednesday (Oct 7), he stressed the need to turn higher standards into a competitive advantage for Singapore, ensure a fair and predictable transition for existing data centres and address resource constraints at a system level. He also said that Singapore’s constraints should become opportunities to the country’s capabilities as operators invest in more efficient and resilient infrastructure.
