Ferry, boat operators cut trip frequency to neighbouring islands due to rising fuel costs

Trips to neighbouring islands will be less frequent, with at least one boat operator slashing schedules by up to 40 per cent to manage fuel costs. Others are working together to fill as many seats on each trip as possible before departing. Ferry fares to Batam now include a S$6 surcharge, amid rising fuel prices since the war in the Middle East began. Charlotte Lim reports.
