First driverless shuttle route in Punggol to launch by second quarter 2026
Punggol residents will get self-driving shuttles next year, with the first route expected to launch by the second quarter. Three routes will cover parts of Punggol that are harder to reach by public transport, and cutting travel times by up to 15 minutes. The routes will be operated by Grab and ComfortDelGro. Fares will be announced closer to the start date. As a precaution, a safety operator will be on board at all times. From next week, the shuttles will be getting familiar with road conditions, without picking up passengers yet. Charlotte Lim with more.
