Foo Cexiang on companies implicated in forced labour allegations
Should the government receive specific information on companies registered or headquartered in Singapore having forced labour links in local or overseas operations, it will investigate them for breaching domestic laws and take action if warranted. Singapore also works with other jurisdictions to make sure that its foreign-based firms comply with regulations in those countries. Minister of State for Trade and Industry Foo Cexiang said this in answer to an MP’s question in parliament on Thursday (Sep 10).
