The impact of the US Section 301 tariffs on Singapore’s economy is currently “muted”, said Minister of State for Trade and Industry Foo Cexiang. Singapore is still in negotiations with the US and will continue to assess the impact of current tariffs, as well as any future potential tariffs, he said. Replying to parliamentary questions on Thursday (Sep 10), he said the government stands ready to support businesses and workers, and is actively engaging businesses and the labour movement to detect early signs of difficulties.
