Gan Siow Huang on caregiving support for workers
The Government will continue to review how it can better support working caregivers, alongside private sector companies and its tripartite partners, said Minister of State for Manpower Gan Siow Huang. Replying to an MP’s question in Parliament on Wednesday (Jul 5), she said a more sustainable and flexible form of workplace support is flexible work arrangements, which allow caregivers to vary their work timing and location. She said the tripartite partners will continue to encourage and equip employers to provide flexible work arrangements to support employees in managing both their work and caregiving responsibilities. She added that the Government will continue to review and strengthen other forms of support for working caregivers. These include providing financial support and fostering a more family-friendly culture.
