Gan Thiam Poh on Police Force (Amendment) Bill

Allow auxiliary police forces to conduct roadblocks independently, especially in areas where residents have reported speeding or noise caused by illegally modified vehicles. MP Gan Thiam Poh made this suggestion in Parliament on Monday (Aug 2). He asked how many roadblock operations had been conducted in the past five years and how many offenders were caught. Mr Gan also said all police officers, including special officers and Commercial Affairs Officers, should be equipped with cameras and recorders so there is evidence of their operations in case of wrongful accusations or fake news.
