Goh Hanyan on support for households with utility bill arrears
Over the past five years, the percentage of households with utility bills in arrears for six months or more have decreased from 0.5 per cent to 0.2 per cent, said Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Sustainability and the Environment Goh Hanyan in parliament on Tuesday (Mar 3). In her reply to an MP’s questions, she said that the government provides targeted support to those who may require assistance with their utility bills. Various community and social assistance schemes are also available to households that require additional financial assistance. She also said that for households with more severe arrears, water supply will not be shut off.
