Hazel Poa on Child Development Co-Savings (Amendment) Bill
The Progress Singapore Party (PSP) supports the Government’s moves to increase paid paternity leave and introduce protection for fathers against notice of dismissal during that period, said NCMP Hazel Poa. She said this sends an important message that both parents are partners in starting a family and gives them the opportunity to be physically present to take on childminding responsibilities. She added that it is important for the Government to address other factors which affect the ability and willingness of Singaporeans to have children, including the high cost of living and Singapore’s work culture.
