He Ting Ru on Central Provident Fund (Amendment) Bill
The Central Provident Fund (CPF) system, as the "expressed bedrock" of Singapore's social security system, has to be sensitive and cognisant of the difficulties faced by the people, said MP He Ting Ru. Speaking in Parliament on Monday (Nov 1), she said Singapore's CPF policies have, as a response to the changing economy and society, evolved and expanded to cover functions beyond saving for retirement. She welcomed the proposed changes under the Central Provident Fund (Amendment) Bill for greater flexibility and efficiency and sought clarifications on several aspects of the Bill.
