He Ting Ru on Copyright Bill

The objectives of the Copyright Bill are laudable, which include upholding Singapore's international obligations relating to intellectual property, said MP He Ting Ru. Speaking in Parliament on Monday (Sep 13), she said there is room to expand on rights and recognition for creators and performers, and to bring them in line with those of developed countries. She wanted to know if the Government intends to go even further to legislate royalty payments for them. She also asked what efforts have been undertaken to educate the public on what constitutes copyright.
