He Ting Ru in debate on securing Singaporeans’ jobs and livelihoods, and foreign talent policy

The issue of jobs cannot be divorced from the issue of immigration and its impact on Singapore’s economy and society, said MP He Ting Ru in Parliament on Tuesday (Sep 14). She said there are genuine concerns among the public and not all views should be dismissed as narrow-minded or xenophobic; in fact, they might reveal “potential blind spots” in the implementation of policies. Ms He called for stronger and more meaningful bridges to be built between immigrants and citizens, and for the Government to be more transparent on immigration and foreign manpower policies by regularly publishing and sharing data.
