Heat stress could cost Singapore $2.2b a year in lost productivity by 2035: Study

Singapore's first large-scale research on the impact of heat stress on people and industry has estimated that it could cost $2.2 billion in lost productivity, come 2035. Project HeatSafe surveyed 34,000 people and companies across 42 industries. The cost goes beyond monetary losses. Heat stress can also mess with a person's balance, as well as impair their mental function and decision-making process, putting them at higher risk of work-related injuries.
