Indonesia joins BRICS as full member
Indonesia will join BRICS as a full member, further expanding the group of major emerging economies that includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The bloc's 2025 chair Brazil said member states approved Indonesia's entry by consensus as part of an expansion push initially endorsed at the 2023 BRICS summit in Johannesburg. But, Indonesia requested to formally join after its presidential election last year. Chandni Vatvani reports.
