Iran says Strait of Hormuz talks underway with Oman
Iran's Revolutionary Guards have warned they will maintain their blockade of the Strait of Hormuz until the US meets specific conditions. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed talks with Oman are in final stages, but stressed that reopening the strait depends on additional conditions, including compensation for war damages. He denied direct negotiations with Washington, stating communication is only through intermediaries, and cautioned against talks while the US breaches an interim deal signed two months ago. Meanwhile, Houthi forces claimed responsibility for striking a Saudi Aramco oil refinery - just two days after Saudi Arabia signed a defence pact with Turkey and Pakistan. Saudi Arabia's energy ministry confirmed a fire broke out at the refinery but was extinguished, with no injuries reported.
