Janet Ang on public housing motions
The Ministry of National Development, Housing and Development Board and Ministry of Finance have the unenviable job of prioritising for the greater good of all of Singapore, said NMP Janet Ang. "It is a very tough job," she said in Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 7). She pointed out that they have created a system that works and is admired. She also stressed the need to debate difficult issues "in truth and in love", to strive to "unite and not divide" and to find solutions that support the integral human development of society. She also said all policies have to be judged by their impact on people. She expressed confidence that Singapore will "do it again" as it pursues the twin goals of affordable and accessible public housing while protecting the interests of current and future generations of Singaporeans.
