Over the past year, Singapore's medical supplies have been adequate to meet demand, said Senior Minister of State for Health Janil Puthucheary. Replying to MPs' questions in Parliament on Tuesday (Jan 10), he said towards the end of last year, there were temporary localised shortages of specific brands of medicines used to treat fever, cough and cold due to a higher incidence of viral infections. Retailers persuaded customers to switch to brands which were not in short supply. In the past couple of weeks, demand has moderated and stock levels have improved, he said.
