The take-up rate of vaccination for younger children has been "encouraging", with about 123,000 who are aged five to 11 having received at least one dose or booked their appointments as of Jan 7. Senior Minister of State for Health Janil Puthucheary gave this update in Parliament on Monday (Jan 10) in reply to MPs' questions. He said there have been no reports of severe adverse events or myocarditis in children in this age group as of Jan 7. He gave the assurance that all designated paediatric vaccination centres are well-equipped to manage any on-site emergencies due to allergic reactions. There are no recommendations for children to receive booster doses, he said.
