There are no plans to introduce plain language legislation, said Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information Janil Puthucheary in reply to a Parliamentary question on Monday (Feb 27). He acknowledged that while not all of the Government’s communications are written in a simple, concise and clear manner, introducing legislation is not the answer. He stated that the aim of achieving better Government communications will be pursued through education, training, role-modelling and "holding ourselves to high standards".
