Janil Puthucheary on recent security breaches of foreign Government computer systems

Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information Janil Puthucheary said the Cyber Security Agency and the Government Technology Agency work with security agencies to monitor threats and respond to any cyberattack on the country's critical computer systems. But given the sensitive nature of the issue, operations and responses cannot be publicly discussed. He said there are preventive, proactive and reactive measures that are in place to defend against cyber threats. He added that regular cybersecurity awareness training for public officers is conducted regularly. Dr Janil was replying to an MP's questions in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 6).
