Singapore keeps abreast of advances in artificial intelligence (AI) to ensure its benefits can be enjoyed in a trusted and safe manner. Where necessary and useful, it will update its measures to take into account the impact of developments like ChatGPT and GPT-4, said Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information and Minister-in-charge of GovTech Singapore Janil Puthucheary. Replying to an MP’s question in Parliament on Tuesday (May 9), Dr Janil said the Public Service has introduced guidelines for public officers using similar technologies to draft documents. Officers are told that they are accountable for their work and responsible for fact-checking and vetting AI-generated content. They are also reminded not to input sensitive information into these applications.
