Japan's ruling LDP faces challenge for Tokyo race after faltering at local poll

Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party lost another local election yesterday, in a further blow to the party. Ms Yasutomo Suzuki, a former mayor endorsed by the opposition Constitutional Democrats and Democratic Party for the People, won Shizuoka's gubernatorial election. The LDP is now facing a challenge for Tokyo's gubernatorial race in July, with Renho, a high-profile member from the biggest opposition party announcing her candidacy. Michiyo Ishida reports.
