Jasmin Lau on Posting Group banding
Posting Groups are used for secondary school placement and to guide initial subject levels that students can take at the start of Secondary 1. Minister of State for Education Jasmin Lau said her ministry is mindful of challenges that some students may face, including with social interactions in a more diverse classroom setting. Teachers are provided with resources and training to support students - for example, the use of termly check-in surveys. Ms Lau was answering an MP’s question in parliament on Tuesday (Apr 7) on the possible negative impact of Posting Group banding and how inclusivity across different groups is promoted.
