Jasmin Lau on safeguards against potential gaming by training providers and trainees
The Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA) is investigating training providers and trainees involved in potential gaming behaviour. If ongoing investigations indicate that any criminal behaviour might be involved, police reports will be made. It will take appropriate action if investigations confirm a breach of funding terms or other inappropriate conduct. As for the erroneous disbursements of the Enhanced Training Support for Small and Medium Enterprises, SWDA rectified the erroneous system logic in the IT system that led to the misclassification of firms as SMEs. Acting Minister for Manpower Jasmin Lau said this in reply to MPs' questions in parliament on Wednesday (Aug 5).
