Jeffrey Siow on COE renewal terms
The government already allows existing car owners to renew their COEs for five years as a concession. If it allows for shorter renewals, it would mean that more car owners would renew their COEs when prices are high and this would reduce the supply of new COEs for prospective car owners. Acting Transport Minister Jeffrey Siow said this in reply to an MP’s question in parliament on Wednesday (Jan 14).
