Jeffrey Siow on progress of Circle Line tunnel-strengthening works
The tunnel-strengthening works for the Circle Line are progressing as planned and as at end-February this year, about 50 per cent of the required steel rings have been installed. Acting Transport Minister Jeffrey Siow gave this update in parliament on Thursday (Mar 5) in response to an MP’s questions. He said that the reinforcement works are on schedule to be completed by Apr 19 as committed, and are also being carried out at a pace that will ensure the safety of workers and commuters. He also said that train and shuttle bus services will continue to be monitored and adjusted to minimise inconvenience to commuters.
