Jeffrey Siow on use of single-lane Tengah Link
Tengah Link is a single-lane road built to allow buses to enter and exit Tengah town from Bukit Batok Road quickly. More buses will use the link as a dedicated bus corridor as more bus services are introduced. It is not possible to open the link to cars as this will lengthen travel time for bus commuters and result in long traffic queues for the surrounding roads, even during off-peak hours. This is because the single-lane road is designed as a bus lane. Acting Transport Minister Jeffrey Siow said this in reply to an MP's questions in parliament on Thursday (Nov 6).
