Joan Pereira on Cybersecurity (Amendment) Bill
As Singapore is a global hub for key events, it is important to ensure high cybersecurity standards to retain the trust of visitors and investors, said MP Joan Pereira. Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (May 7), she wanted to know how the authorities intend to empower all ancillary or supporting infrastructure, including hotels and event venues, for high-profile or high-level events to be held in Singapore. Ms Pereira pointed out that as Singapore works to attract more business and activities, it must stay cognisant of business costs that are associated with shoring up cyber defences. She asked if the Government would consider the possibility of industry-wide initiatives to better support companies in this respect.
