In 1939, the mansion became home to the enchanting Malayan Magic Circle, a brotherhood of magicians who hosted dazzling performances and brought theatrical magic to its golden age.

As the echoes of WWll rang out, the abandoned estate turned into a prison for European internees as they sought solace in the Karikal Chronicle, its poignant pages a tribute to the strength of the human spirit in times of darkness.
