Keith Chua on Israel-Hamas conflict

All wars are tragic and inevitably have tragic consequences on innocent lives, said NMP Keith Chua. Speaking in Parliament on Monday (Nov 6), he stressed the need to take a clear stance to condemn all acts of terrorism and wanton violence. Mr Chua said Singapore must not let these external events affect its internal situation. He urged Singaporeans to help maintain the country’s racial and religious peace. He noted that humanitarian aid for Gaza has been contributed by people from all races and sectors here. Mr Chua said Singapore must do everything it can to preserve its unique religious and racial harmony. Religious leaders must do everything to give correct guidance as ultimately, all faiths subscribe to the principles of love, respect, kindness, compassion and peace, he said. He expressed hope for a peaceful and long-lasting solution to the war and a permanent peace between Israel and the Palestinian people.
