The contribution of data to the National Electronic Health Record will create a valuable data set and that value should flow to all Singaporeans, said MP Kenneth Tiong. Speaking in parliament on Monday (Jan 12), he stressed the need for robust ecosystem safeguards. He raised three sets of concerns - the disproportionate cybersecurity burden on small providers, uploading of sensitive medical information despite patient objections and possible insurance loopholes that may render privacy protections ineffective.
