Koh Poh Koon on injuries among platform workers

Data on injuries among platform workers is currently not reported to the Ministry of Manpower. This is because platform workers are not covered by mandatory work injury compensation requirements, explained Senior Minister of State for Manpower Koh Poh Koon. However, reporting of such injuries will be mandated once the work injury compensation framework is implemented for platform workers, as recommended by an advisory committee. Dr Koh was replying to an MP’s question in Parliament on Tuesday (Nov 29).
