Singapore should strive to take a market leadership role and move expeditiously to facilitate the responsible development of the nascent but rapidly growing virtual assets industry. MP Louis Chua elaborated on that point in Parliament on Monday (Apr 4). He also questioned whether a ban on promoting digital payment token services is an appropriate means of protecting consumers, and consistent with the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s approach towards regulating the advertising of other investment products and services.
