Louis Ng on Adoption of Children Bill
Consider mandatory accreditation for all adoption agencies in Singapore to standardise practices and determine their suitability to operate. This suggestion was made by MP Louis Ng in Parliament on Monday (May 9). During the debate on the Adoption of Children Bill, he also asked for more details on a new suitability assessment for those wanting to apply to adopt a child. Mr Ng asked what requirements must be satisfied to get a favourable assessment, and whether the Government will release guidelines on the administrative requirements, legal processes and relevant costs involved.
