Louis Ng on Electric Vehicles Charging Bill
New standards to mandate the installation of electric vehicle charging points during major construction work cover larger redevelopments and those with a higher approved electrical-load capacity, but they should cover smaller-scale projects as well, said MP Louis Ng. Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday (Nov 30), he suggested that future redevelopments might be designed to “dodge” the threshold. He also called for the Government to ensure there will be options for kerbside charging and look into expanding a grant that co-funds shared charging infrastructure in non-landed private residences.
